With a plain wedding band, you can easily transform it into a a solitaire engagement ring just by adding a setting and a center diamond (or stone of your choice) to bring cherished memories into your new chapter in life.
If you are already married or have an engagement ring, add a center piece that expresses something you love.
My client Jeannette was given her grandmother’s wedding band and wanted to created something with a floral design. And as an added touch, we incorporated her grandmother’s December birthstone to make it even more special.

Wedding Band Redesign Idea #2: Embellish with Sparkle
If you are getting married and plain is not your style, adding some sparkle to an heirloom gold wedding band is the perfect way to transform a treasured piece.
My client Eugene was given two 24k yellow gold wedding bands that were too wide and round for her taste. She told me she was getting married in October, so I suggested making two thinner wedding bands and adding round diamonds half way around each.
She loved the idea and this is the result:
When the holidays came around, her mother & sister also had two 24k yellow gold bands each and Eugene wanted to make beautiful jewelry pieces they could wear too!

Wedding Band Redesign Idea #3: Reshape it
If you are not married, you definitely don’t want to wear a plain wedding band. Gold and platinum can be rolled out, cut, and bent to create something new.
My client Marie inherited two platinum wedding band, plus a few other pieces of jewelry from her parents that she wasn’t going to wear. She had a more unique style, so I suggested a fun bypass ring that would bring the color and uniqueness she was looking for.
With one wedding band and a pair of earrings, we created this design that she loves to wear on her middle finger:
